Embark on a journey through history and the picturesque countryside of Adams County, Pennsylvania, with Gettysburg Railway. Patriot Rail Excursions invites you to board our new excursion train, departing from and returning to the charming historic 1884 Gettysburg train depot, conveniently located near the southeast entrance to Gettysburg College.
Step aboard 1950 era Budd built railroad passenger cars, now meticulously transformed into today’s luxury passenger cars, transporting you back in time. As you travel, immerse yourself in captivating storytelling about significant leaders of the battle, and discover historical points of interest along the route. Enjoy the stunning countryside views as you journey along the railroad.
Before and after your ride, explore the historic depot gift shop. Here, you can get an up-close look at the vintage rail cars, pick up a unique souvenir, and enjoy a variety of food and beverages.

Steam Engine Train
Ride behind visiting Northern Central Railway steam locomotive No. 17 on a one-hour trip honoring Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and America250. November 19–21 only.
Ride n' Shine
Weekend mornings at 10 AM. Grab locally sourced coffee and a Hollabaugh Bros. apple cider donut in the concession car, then relax on a 90-minute ride through Adams County farmland.
Dessert Before Dinner
An all-inclusive fall ride with a spread of seasonal desserts, from caramel apples to pumpkin bread and s’more cups, plus hot cider and cocoa. Last ride Friday, Oct. 16.
Halloween Express
Costumes encouraged! A 60-minute family ride with trick-or-treat bags, Halloween trivia, costumed car hosts, and a Witches’ Walk performance back at the station. Oct. 31 at 3 PM.
Cozy Cocoa & Coffee
A relaxing 90-minute morning ride in holiday-decorated cars, with seasonal hot cocoa and fresh coffee available in the concession car.
Santa Express
Santa strolls through the decorated train greeting families and posing for photos. Every child gets a gift bag and a wish list, plus a reading of The Night Before Christmas. December 4, 5, 18, 19 & 20.
